Education
For schools, art schools, and other groups the Convento offers educational activities, under the title ‘Life is Art, Art is Life’, guided tours and formative art-workshops, often in cooperation with the teaching staff.
We have special extensive guided tours through the Water Museum, gardens and the Convento exhibition spaces for one day school excursions.
The weekend workshops, where movement, awareness and creativity are the principal guidelines, have been attended for several years by a number of schools and academies. They are encouraging young people and art students to appreciate and care for their environment and find ways to express themselves through artistic creativity.
During the workshop the group explores their environment and experiences a wide variety of artworks developed, using a range of media including pencil, charcoal, pen, pastel, paint, clay and discovered objects and materials.
Besides the benefit from gaining personal insight and finding ways to express oneself verbally and in a number of art forms, there is also the social aspect; the vitality, humour and goodwill that a group can experience in a short and intensive workshop is the sort of unplanned by-product that adds to the educational quality of the weekend.
