The Convento de São Francisco de Mértola is a nonprofit, Non Governmental Organization.

The Convento has been successful in increasing a great number and varieties of bird species within the grounds and the surrounding area.

To help us protect this true haven of tranquillity for wildlife we encourage visitors to pay a voluntary entrance fee.

The Convento is open to the public on Sundays from 10 am till 6 pm
